Case Study 2 of the Styrofoam Density Reduction Machine RE-E1000A ■Industry: Recycling ■Application: Density reduction of Styrofoam (fish boxes, food trays, cushioning materials for home appliances) 【Customer's Challenges】 The company located in Oita Prefecture is engaged in the material recycling of lightweight and bulky Styrofoam generated from fish boxes and food trays from supermarkets and markets, as well as cushioning materials from electronics retailers. The Styrofoam, which is finely crushed by a shredder, is formed into sheets called ingots by the density reduction machine, and is reborn as a raw material for re-commercialization. Previously, they were using our old model Styrofoam density reduction machine, but due to long-term use, it had deteriorated, leading to issues such as "crushed Styrofoam powder leaking from the gaps of the density reduction machine" and "difficulty in cutting the ingots formed into sheets." *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

■Introduction Yamamoto Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is a machinery manufacturer founded in 1918 in Tendo City, Yamagata Prefecture. We have achieved the top market share in Japan for agricultural machinery, particularly grain dryers and straw cutters. "Because we are a company that has walked alongside agriculture, we want to contribute to improving the global environment that supports food production." This aspiration, combined with our cultivated technology, led to the creation of the polystyrene reduction machine "High Melter." Through the provision of our products, we aim to create a bright future for the industry together with those who are challenging themselves in the recycling industry (*). That is our mission. ■Thoughts on Development The concept of the "circular economy," which views discarded items as resources and aims to circulate resources without generating waste, is gaining attention. However, the recycling industry (*), which plays a significant role in this, does not receive much public interest, and many companies are struggling with labor shortages. Through manufacturing, we want to shine a spotlight on this industry and bring about change. This is the sentiment embedded in all the environmental equipment produced by Yamamoto Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (*) In contrast to the "arterial industries" that produce goods, the industries that collect, recycle, reuse, process, and dispose of waste are referred to as "venous industries," likening them to the circulation of human blood.
