Repair and anti-corrosion method for agricultural waterways and concrete structures using a hybrid surface impregnation material and polymer cement mortar.
The Crystal NCP method is an inorganic coating method that uses surface impregnation materials. It aims to restore the functionality and extend the lifespan of aging concrete agricultural water channels, allowing for both repair and anti-corrosion work to be carried out in a single application. 【Features】 ■ Concrete body modification effect: Weak concrete that has become vulnerable due to wear and cross-sectional defects is modified using an alkali silicate aqueous solution. ■ Workability and stable quality: The PCM used complies with NEXCO cross-section repair material standards. It provides stable quality with easy application by simply mixing with USCP liquid. ■ Dense structure and crack resistance: By incorporating high furnace crushed slag fine aggregate, it maintains a dense organizational structure for long-term stability and excellent crack resistance. ■ Wear resistance and prevention of deterioration factor penetration: The application of surface impregnation materials improves wear resistance, water absorption prevention, salt shielding, carbonation suppression, and freeze damage resistance. ■ Improvement of roughness coefficient: By creating a highly dense surface structure, it possesses wear resistance while improving the roughness coefficient without reducing the cross-sectional area of the water channel.

basic information
【Basic Performance】 ■ Manual on Repair and Reinforcement Works for Agricultural Water Facilities [Open Channel Repair Edition] (Draft) confirms satisfaction of all quality standards for inorganic coating methods (Testing Institution: Chuken Consultant Co., Ltd., Shimane University) ■ Performance test results of protective materials: The performance evaluation of surface protection methods by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers confirms "Grade A" for all items (Testing Institution: Toyo University, Fukute Laboratory) 【Construction Process】 1. Surface Preparation: High-pressure washing is performed to remove contaminants from the construction surface. 2. Structural Modification Treatment: Crystal NCP Method A liquid is applied using a brush, roller, or sprayer. 3. Surface Coating Treatment (Cross-Section Repair Treatment): USCP mortar is mixed and applied with a trowel after stirring. 4. PCM Modification Treatment: Crystal NCP Method A liquid is reapplied (aimed at modifying and densifying the surface coating layer). 5. Surface Water Repellent Treatment: Crystal NCP Method B liquid is applied using a brush, roller, or sprayer (to form a water absorption prevention layer).

Applications/Examples of results
■Target structures: Concrete structures such as aging agricultural open canals and canal tunnels. ■Construction conditions: A space is required for workers to perform the application (coating) work. ■Substrate conditions: Confirm that the surface to be treated is dry (surface moisture content within 9%). ■Environmental conditions: Temperature must be above 5°C. Construction should not be carried out during rainfall or if rain is expected within 12 hours after construction. ■Others: If there are cracks or leaks in the concrete to be treated, separate repairs are necessary.

Nikko Corporation has switched the raw materials for its paints from petroleum to quartz and is developing inorganic agents centered around its "room temperature enamel coating" technology, expanding into a wide range of markets from electronic components to architectural and civil engineering structures. With the development of civilization and industrial activities, our lives have become richer. However, behind that richness, issues such as the burden on the natural environment, environmental pollution due to industrial waste disposal, and global warming have become problems on a worldwide scale. Nikko believes that "inorganic paints" can reduce the burden on the natural environment, protect people's health and safety, and enable a reduction in life cycle costs, and is committed to product development in this area.
