[Example of IoT Implementation with Tibbo-Pi] Visualization of Operating Status for Parts Manufacturers
Successfully implemented IoT for old manufacturing machines. IoT integration is possible even for old manufacturing equipment. Please feel free to consult us.
To electronic component manufacturers, we would like to introduce a case study where we devised a method for collecting operational data without modifying the equipment, based on electrical changes in the PLC. The company experienced a decline in production efficiency due to intermittent stoppages in aging manufacturing equipment. They wanted to implement preventive maintenance, but the collection of operational logs from 80 pieces of equipment was a significant challenge. By using IoT sensors (Tibbo-Pi), we automatically uploaded changes in equipment status to a server, achieving visibility of operational conditions. 【Case Overview】 ■Challenges - Decline in production efficiency due to intermittent stoppages in aging manufacturing equipment - Desire to implement preventive maintenance, but the collection of operational logs from 80 pieces of equipment is very labor-intensive - Equipment is rented, so modifications are not possible - Lack of personnel within the company to handle the situation ■Results - Developed a method to "collect" operational data without modifying the equipment based on electrical changes in the PLC - Achieved visibility of operational conditions - Utilized for analyzing characteristics of each machine and the causes of intermittent stoppages *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
