Therefore, it does not cause any clogging or pressure loss. Even when the capture capacity limit is reached, it does not hinder the operation of the device. ■Powerful capturing ability The magnets enhance magnetic flux due to their special arrangement, resulting in a significant difference in the capturing ability of iron powder compared to simple magnets. EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) can be considered a very useful machine tool that can process extremely hard materials like cemented carbide. Due to the fine particles of the workpiece that scatter during the electrical discharge machining, it is necessary for them to be sufficiently filtered by a filtration system as they become suspended in the cutting fluid. However, while existing filters can filter to some extent, they cannot remove all fine particles smaller than 10 μm. That said, using finer mesh can easily lead to clogging and increase the frequency of replacements, making it economically challenging to use excessively fine products. Naturally, when machining workpieces like cemented carbide, very hard contaminants that are much harder than the materials of the system components will scatter. Therefore, if the cutting fluid is not sufficiently filtered, very hard fine particles can become a fundamental cause of excessive wear. In other words, among the ultrafine particles scattered by the impact of electrical discharge machining, there are particles that are much finer than the mesh of standard filters. Consequently, the impact generated by the collision of fine particles occurs at high speeds between very hard materials, resulting in considerable impact force. If not sufficiently filtered, a significant portion of the contaminants from the cemented carbide will remain suspended in the cutting fluid, which will likely affect the finishing accuracy of the products.
