The pedestal and knob rotate independently, allowing for height adjustment while the object is still attached to the screw section. The felt prevents scratches and dirt, and provides sound dampening during movement. It uses 100% polyester felt (compliant with RoHS), which leaves no marks and does not worry about collapsing under load.
