Biogas production has improved from 2,389 m3 to 4,435 m3 per day! A case study from a potato processing plant.
The factory in question produces fried potatoes (French fries) and many food-grade potato flakes, and its wastewater treatment facility combines anaerobic and aerobic processes. The primary objective was to improve the COD values of the treatment facility, and the secondary objective was to increase the amount of biogas produced. Biofuture Ireland developed a microbial agent called 'BFL4400AN' for the anaerobic treatment facility. After three months, the COD figures improved from 0.34m3/kg COD removed to 0.72m3/kg COD removed, representing a 112% improvement.
