Waterproofing by the swelling of bentonite! Here we introduce the content and results of the tests conducted by our company!
Introduction to the swelling degree of Gel-Fit rope (bentonite) in saltwater. Using NaCl, a solution of arbitrary salt concentration was prepared and divided into a 100ml graduated cylinder. 2g of bentonite was measured and added to the above salt solution in ten increments every 30 minutes. After allowing it to stand for 24 hours, the scale at the boundary with the supernatant was read to determine the swelling degree. As a result, the salinity of seawater is considered to be about 3%, but the salinity of landfill sites adjacent to the sea is generally thought to be around 1%, depending on the conditions, and the swelling degree is estimated to be above 15 (ml/2g). 【Overview】 <Test Content> - A solution of arbitrary salt concentration was prepared using NaCl and divided into a 100ml graduated cylinder. - 2g of bentonite was measured and added to the above salt solution in ten increments every 30 minutes. - After allowing it to stand for 24 hours, the scale at the boundary with the supernatant was read to determine the swelling degree. <Test Results> - The salinity of landfill sites adjacent to the sea is generally considered to be around 1%, depending on the conditions, and the swelling degree is estimated to be above 15 (ml/2g). *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
