The customer owns 40 retail locations in the city and has been rigorously working on cost reductions beyond just electricity. Additionally, they received a significant proposal for a 15% increase in annual electricity charges from their current supplier, which amounted to approximately 70 million yen. After informing them that the current contract levels would not be maintained and that a price increase was unavoidable, we held an auction to keep the increase to a minimum. As a result, we were able to limit the price increase to 5%, reducing the increase to 25 million yen.
