■Aroma Room Installation / Aromatherapist on Duty - Orthopedics and Rehabilitation The waiting time for consultations has been very long, leading to complaints at the reception and causing frustration for both patients and staff. To alleviate this frustration, we have implemented short hand massages. We offer aromatherapy to patients who wish to participate for about 15 minutes each. The effectiveness of the aroma and its scent has significantly reduced complaints. Recently, some patients have reported feeling less irritated in their daily lives, relief from pain in their hands and finger joints, and improvement in shoulder stiffness. ■Aromatherapy Implementation in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics We have introduced aromatherapy massage for patients, which has been very well received.   Implementation of Aromatherapy in Internal Medicine When we express "aroma," it may seem somewhat inaccessible to those who are unfamiliar with it, but around us, scents and smells exist abundantly and naturally. Among them, we have all experienced how certain scents can calm us, energize us, or evoke emotions in ways that are not visible. I have always wanted to know what "the scent of lavender" from a certain movie was like. As I continued to yearn for it, I eventually had the opportunity to smell lavender, whether through incense or essential oils. A few years ago, I was able to participate in an aromatherapy course organized by the medical association, where I learned about aromatherapy from various perspectives under Dr. Tamano. Through this connection, I have been able to provide aromatherapy to patients at our clinic. Since then, I have been guided by the doctor to deepen my previously superficial knowledge. While I have not fully mastered it yet, the difference between knowing and not knowing makes me realize that "it’s just a scent, yet it’s so much more." I believe that by acquiring multifaceted knowledge and making aromatherapy my own, I can broaden the horizons of my life.

  A dental anesthesiologist who helps calm patients afraid of dental treatment. It is said that more than 80% of people find dental treatment difficult and scary. One of the reasons for this is the unique smell of hospitals. Since dental treatment is performed close to the nasal cavity, special consideration is necessary. Many patients recall being treated while being restrained during childhood due to the smell. The greater the tension and anxiety, the more pain is felt during treatment, so I thought about ways to help them relax, and I arrived at aromatherapy using essential oils. I use Aroma Clear for all my patients. During the consultation, I let the patients choose their favorite scent. They are often very pleased, especially if they have never experienced such a clinic before. Since it is easy to enjoy a long-lasting fragrance just by dropping essential oil on a sticker, patients can easily focus on their breathing, and it is also well-received by staff, including occupational therapists and nurses.
