Each pier has two independently controlled hydraulic jacks that accurately lowered the caisson!
The existing Johnson Street Bridge, which has a history of 90 years, is located in the heart of Victoria, British Columbia, and was in the process of being replaced with a new bridge that will serve the community for the next 100 years. The 1,100-ton bascule bridge box is composed of steel and concrete caissons and needed to be precisely lowered onto 16 large piers. Therefore, we provided 32 "CLSG high-tonnage hydraulic cylinders" and 3 "EVO synchronized lift systems." All three systems are networked, allowing one operator to control all 32 points from a master control user interface. By combining the system with the bar lowering method, the company improved accuracy, productivity, and efficiency, completing the lowering and leveling of the caissons in just three business days. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
