At an automotive parts processing company, a process for heat treatment of products involves performing gear hardening at a high temperature of 190°C using chemical agents. Using a filter press machine, black fine sludge particles under 100μ are collected from the chemical liquid, but the filter needs to be removed and cleaned every night, which incurs labor and costs. As a result of a practical test using the sludge recovery device "M1-250M," the collection and dewatering time was reduced to one-fourth of the conventional time, while filter cleaning time was reduced to one-fifth, and labor costs were halved, leading to significant cost savings.
