Low pressure loss multi-hole pitot tube for measuring flow rate and velocity in piping.
Bar flow tube
It is a differential pressure flow and velocity sensor, a porous pitot tube "Barflow Tube." Compared to orifice flow meters, it allows for low pressure loss and energy-saving measures.
Flow measurement is one of the most important aspects in the field of industrial measurement. When measuring the flow rate of fluids (liquids and gases), methods that utilize pressure differences before and after a constriction mechanism, such as orifice plates, flow nozzles, Venturi tubes, and Pitot tubes, installed in the piping where the fluid flows, are the most commonly used in today's industrial flow measurement and its automatic control. Accurate and reliable flow measurement leads to effective plant operation, efficient energy use, environmental conservation, improved safety, and reduced overall costs. The specialized technology for selecting and installing flow meters ensures smooth plant operation and prevents unexpected shutdowns and troubles. JMS Co., Ltd. provides a comprehensive service from planning, development, design, manufacturing, to maintenance as a specialized manufacturer of polynomial Pitot tubes. We have a cumulative shipment record of over 10,000 units.

basic information
The "porous pitot tube" Barflow tube does not have a throttling structure like an orifice or venturi, allowing for very low permanent pressure loss. It is equipped with multiple total pressure measurement holes and static pressure measurement holes, enabling the measurement of the average flow velocity within the piping and detecting stable flow rates.

Applications/Examples of results
The "porous pitot tube" Barflow tube allows for flow rate and velocity measurements with low pressure loss. Therefore, it is widely used for exhaust gas measurements in factories and plants where energy conservation is desired. It has numerous applications in waste disposal sites, sewage treatment plants, steel mills, chemical plants, and more.
Detailed information
-
The total pressure port of the bar flow tube placed in the flow has the sum of static pressure and dynamic pressure, that is, total pressure (P1), while the static pressure port on the opposite side has static pressure (P2), and P1-P2 is detected as differential pressure. This differential pressure is used to measure the flow rate using Bernoulli's theorem.

Company information
JMSS Co., Ltd. was established in July 1976 with the keyword "environmental measurement." Since then, as a pioneer in environmental measurement in Japan, we have contributed to domestic environmental measures by initially importing excellent measuring instruments from overseas and then engaging in domestic manufacturing. We have also expanded our business to include energy-saving and plant corrosion prevention equipment as an extension of environmental measurement. In September 2003, we obtained ISO 9001:2000 certification (updated to ISO 9001:2015 in September 2021) (LRQA Limited). We promise to further enhance customer satisfaction with our products and services. We position compliance with laws and regulations as our top priority and are committed to advancing as a company to realize our motto, "Make Japan Beautiful."
