A case of developing a hydraulic tensioner to safely and timely remove studs!
Removing the 3-meter-long studs from the bucket wheel drive output of the Sandvik stacker reclaimer is a difficult and time-consuming task. In previous operations, it took over 10 hours to remove each stud, and it required up to 120 tons of force to push or pull a total of 16 studs. To safely and timely remove the studs, a custom GT4 hydraulic tensioner was developed. The tensioner extracts each stud in about 30 minutes, significantly saving the maintenance team's time.
