[+CAL25F Delivery Record] Nihon University

This is an introduction to the case of delivering "+CAL25F" to the Faculty of Bioresource Sciences at Nihon University!

In 2018, we delivered two units of +CAL25F to the Shimoda Marine Laboratory of Nihon University’s Faculty of Bioresource Sciences. The Shimoda Marine Laboratory, located in Shimoda City, Shizuoka Prefecture, faces Tanoura Bay and conducts practical training and research on marine resources. However, it is said that during a massive earthquake in the Nankai Trough, a tsunami exceeding 30 meters could reach the area in about 15 minutes. Therefore, the introduction of the equipment was made as a measure for ensuring the safety of students and faculty, as well as for crisis management. Additionally, the installation site shown in the above photo was constructed by Nihon University in conjunction with the introduction of this shelter, demonstrating a strong awareness of disaster prevention that left a deep impression on us. Furthermore, we conducted simulations of maritime distress situations with students using the +CAL8F, which accommodates eight people, and contributed to disaster prevention research. Not only was the introduction of the shelter significant, but being able to assist in actual research was also a very valuable experience.
