■Details of Processing Technology This is a technology for lining Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP). It is used not only for repairing FRP tanks and pipes but also as a corrosion prevention measure for concrete and mortar. The main method is hand lay-up, where the surface of the base material is cleaned and roughened, followed by placing glass mat and impregnating it with liquid resins such as epoxy. For coating the inner surfaces of large containers, a flake lining method may be used, where fibers are pre-mixed with resin and applied using a spray gun. ■Possible Sizes There are almost no size constraints. It is not suitable for precision processing. ■Processing Temperature Construction is carried out at room temperature. ■Base Material Many types of materials can be treated. Further special coatings can be applied after coating to enhance corrosion resistance. ■Cautions (Disadvantages of Treatment, etc.) The resins used for impregnation contain VOCs and have a strong odor.
