We have accepted a project from "Aizome Washi" to create ponchos using indigo-dyed washi paper. Our workshop is cooperating in supplying the raw material kozo and in the production of custom washi paper measuring 1.4m x 2.0m. The kozo that has been thoroughly indigo-dyed does not lose any color during the papermaking process and maintains a vibrant hue. It is dyed in an astonishingly uniform and deep blue, yet the texture of the washi is not compromised, feeling no different from regular paper.
