■About Stainless Steel Stainless steel, known as stainless steel, is a material included in steel. Its characteristics and uses include the following: * Resistant to rust The biggest feature is its "rust resistance," which makes it commonly used outdoors and in wet areas without painting. * High cost Compared to steel, it is in a higher price range, approximately five times that of steel. * Antibacterial properties It produces less dust, making it excellent in antibacterial properties. ■The stainless steel materials we use We mostly use "SUS304 material," which is strong against rust, and "SUS430 material," which is often used in kitchen equipment. The thickness is mainly around 0.8 mm, with many items around 1 mm. Additionally, we primarily use solid 2B material and hairline material that we have focused on for processing. Unlike steel in shaku units, sizes are mainly in meter units, and we often process from standard materials of 1m x 2m.

■Manufacturing with Stainless Steel When it comes to stainless steel, there are several points to be aware of that differ from the design and processing of steel materials. 1. Different material elongation Stainless steel is harder than steel materials, and the elongation of the material during bending processing differs, so careful design is necessary. 2. Attention to hairline finish Hairline materials, commonly used for appearance, have lines in a specific direction. Therefore, when forming a box shape, we have established a design rule to indicate the direction of the lines on the layout drawing to ensure proper alignment. 3. Different welding methods While CO2 welding is often used for steel materials, argon welding is more commonly adopted for stainless steel materials. 4. Often no painting Particularly with SUS304 material, which contains nickel, it has strong resistance to rust, so it is often the case that no painting is applied. However, there are instances where stainless steel products are painted, such as control panels installed outdoors. 5. Delicate finishing work Final finishing work is delicate. To achieve a clean surface, processes such as electropolishing to remove welding marks (burns) or buff polishing, where specialized contractors polish the surface, may be employed.
