Metal mirrors have the advantage of being less prone to discrepancies in the speed of light (low dispersion), but it is difficult to increase their reflectivity and laser resistance, which limits their ability to enhance detection capabilities in biological observation due to the inability to increase light intensity. Our company has developed a low-dispersion dielectric multilayer mirror designed to minimize changes in pulse shape associated with reflection, leveraging the technology cultivated through research and development of mirrors for femtosecond lasers. The detection capabilities for biological observation using multiphoton excitation microscopy have significantly improved.
