The mission was to forge the parts being machined in response to the demand for cost reduction. Initially, four years ago, the then Deputy General Manager of Quality Assurance attempted forging, but after machining only a few pieces, the mold, which cost tens of thousands of yen, broke, and the effort was abandoned. Next, the current Deputy General Manager of Production Technology took over and designed the mold according to the drawings, but after machining just one piece, it broke, resulting in failure. It was later understood that the aluminum was being tightly pressed, causing stress concentration at the corners of the mold. To overcome that issue, we made shape modifications and added relief grooves, and with great anticipation, we proceeded to test it, but the mold broke with one hit, and our motivation was shattered in an instant.
