Communication is very important because it is a tool for gaining trust and credibility between superiors and subordinates, as well as between customers. What often happens without realizing it is that executives are discussing strategy while subordinates are talking about tasks or tactics. Alternatively, it can occur when executives are speaking abstractly while subordinates are asking specific questions. Even though executives want everyone to understand the bigger picture, subordinates ask questions seeking direct answers. Journalists often ask questions in this manner intentionally.
