Introducing the Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, which enshrines the cherry blossom goddess, Konohanasakuya-hime, and has adopted "electrode-less lamps." The "electrode-less lamp," which is gaining attention as a third option to replace mercury lamps with LED, consumes less than half the power and electricity costs of mercury lamps. Unlike traditional bulbs that have a filament structure, this lamp has a completely different light-emitting principle and no electrodes, resulting in a long lifespan and gentle brightness. At the Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, the replacement from mercury lamps to electrode-less lamps has been made, and the chief priest expressed gratitude for the very gentle light of the electrode-less lamps, which greatly improved the atmosphere of the shrine and received high praise from visitors.
