Shocking footage! Please watch the soil runoff and soil dispersion experiment video. The way to choose a rooftop greening system will change.

Shocking footage! Please watch the soil runoff and soil dispersion experiment video. Click the related links below. 【The Rooftop Greening Revolution Begins】 Recent heavy rains and strong winds have started to make what were once considered abnormal weather phenomena commonplace. The plants used in traditional thin-layer rooftop greening have mainly been sedums, but they are declining due to the recent weather conditions. Additionally, soil is being washed away or becoming overrun with weeds due to heavy rains and strong winds. Until now, rooftop greening has involved many complex systems that only specialized contractors could manage. The rooftop greening revolution aims to break away from these existing methods and maintain a green oasis easily and sustainably. The system that has made this rooftop greening revolution possible is the fail-proof rooftop greening system "Evergreen Kiri-so Bag Method®." 【Features of the Evergreen Kiri-so Bag Method】 ■ Soil runoff prevention ■ Weed control ■ Easy greening ■ Low maintenance ■ No watering required The Evergreen Kiri-so Bag Method is a new greening approach that puts soil specifically for evergreen Kiri-so into bags, achieving "soil runoff prevention," "weed control," and "easy greening." Search for "Rooftop Greening Revolution" on YouTube to find the soil runoff and dispersion experiment video. You can navigate to the video page through the related links below.

basic information

This is a method of evergreen Kiri-sou bagging using a zipper-type planting bag (FTM bag). It is a triple intellectual property product (patent No. 4911418 + registered trademark No. 6125712) along with variety registration (variety registration number 15866). The triple intellectual property of the evergreen Kiri-sou bagging method (patent, trademark, variety registration) leads to successful rooftop greening. 1. Prevents the intrusion of weeds. 2. Prevents soil runoff. 3. Easy installation with a zipper. The standard size of the bag is 50 cm square, with a wet weight of 13 kg per bag. There is also a rectangular type measuring 15 cm x 100 cm available. Grommet options and custom sizes are possible. The rectangular type is used for wall greening and folded roof greening. The bag is made of root-proof sheet material, which stops the intrusion of weeds and prevents soil scattering and runoff. The bag allows the evergreen Kiri-sou to provide moisture to the soil while preventing soil drying. The site receives bags filled with soil and seedlings of evergreen Kiri-sou, so you simply open the zipper of the bag, insert the seedlings, and close the zipper. It is a simple greening system that completes the greening by just arranging the bags containing the plants.

Soil Erosion Experiment One of the reasons for the failure of rooftop greening is "soil erosion." By bursting large water balloons, we recreated heavy rainfall and conducted an erosion experiment comparing the rooftop greening systems "bag method vs. conventional method." Recently, abnormal weather has increased, and the occurrence of "intense rain" with rainfall amounts exceeding 80 mm per hour has increased by about 1.7 times over the past 30 years. Such heavy rain can wash away the soil and plants of rooftop greening, causing problems such as clogging drainage systems. Soil Dispersal Experiment One of the reasons for the failure of rooftop greening is "soil dispersal." We conducted a dispersal experiment comparing the rooftop greening systems "bag method vs. conventional method" by creating strong winds using a blower and a circulator. Recently, it is predicted that there is a tendency for the number of very strong tropical cyclones, with maximum wind speeds exceeding 45 m/s over the sea (or land), to increase due to abnormal weather. In such severe weather, the soil and plants from rooftop greening can disperse, causing problems such as clogging drainage systems. Rooftop Greening Revolution: A Successful Rooftop Greening System "Evergreen Kirinsou Bag Method" Case Study: Roof Greening This is a roof greening project using the successful rooftop greening system "Evergreen Kirinsou Bag Method." Since it is on the roof surface, it is secured with a scattering prevention net. The Asakusa Culture and Tourism Center is a tourist information facility located in Taito Ward, in front of the Kaminarimon Gate. The first floor features an information counter that supports Japanese, English, Korean, and Chinese, as well as a currency exchange service, while the second floor has a tourist information corner. The top floor, the 8th floor, is a free observation terrace. Due to the existing building being over 50 years old and deteriorating, a competition was held in 2008, and the proposal by Kengo Kuma was adopted. The initial plan had a height of 41.25 meters, but there were objections from Senso-ji Temple and the local shopping district, claiming it would disrupt the harmony of the streetscape, leading to a reduction of about 2 meters, resulting in a height of 38.9 meters. In 2012, it received the Good Design Award. Rooftop Greening Revolution: A Fail-Proof Rooftop Greening System "Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method" Case Study: Rooftop Greening (Accommodating Curves) This is a rooftop greening project of approximately 180 square meters using the fail-proof rooftop greening system "Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method." The greening area is divided into buildings A to D, and the shapes are not rectangular, with curved sections throughout the rooftop greening. This cannot be accommodated by conventional tray-style greening. The Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method also accommodates square bags of 50 cm, 25 cm, and rectangular bags of 15 cm x 50 cm. Since the bags are flexible, they can be shaped on-site to fit the design. Additionally, custom sizes can be ordered, allowing for rooftop greening tailored to the site. The flexibility of the bags also enables greening on curved surfaces. Rooftop Greening Revolution: A Fail-Proof Rooftop Greening System "Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method" Case Study: Rooftop Greening (Rooftop Greening by Middle School Students) The students themselves carried materials up to the rooftop, planted them in bags, and arranged the bags to complete the rooftop greening. The photo below was taken as a graduation memory. This rooftop greening project was led by the school's science club. The science club measured the temperatures of classrooms without greening and the classroom directly below the rooftop greening, using thermography to investigate the temperature distribution in the classrooms. In the classroom directly below the rooftop greening, the overall temperature was shown in blue, confirming the effectiveness of the rooftop greening. Rooftop Greening Revolution: A Fail-Proof Rooftop Greening System "Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method" Case Study: Rooftop Greening (Greening by Children, Rooftop Greening by Middle School Students) To combat the summer heat at the community center, we implemented the Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method. The community center is a prefab building, so it tends to get quite hot in the summer as the air conditioning does not work well. The greening was done by the children of the neighborhood. The bags of evergreen kiri grass come with name tags, allowing participants to write their names on them. By participating in greening activities, the children's feelings towards community building improve, and a sense of attachment to the plaza also develops. Rooftop Greening Revolution: A Failsafe Rooftop Greening System "Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method" Construction Case: Slope Greening A sediment control dam, known as a "sabo dam," is a type of dam installed in rivers. It is designed to catch harmful sediment such as debris flows that flow down from upstream and gradually release the accumulated sediment, thereby regulating the amount of sediment flowing downstream. By accumulating sediment in the sediment control dam, the gradient of the river becomes gentler, preventing the riverbed and riverbanks from being eroded, and weakening the destructive power of debris flows. It also stabilizes the foothills on both sides, helping to prevent landslides on the mountain slopes. However, the construction of large concrete walls in mountainous areas can lead to landscape issues. Until now, greening has been difficult on sediment control dams, and maintaining any greenery that was established has also been challenging. The Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method has made it possible to easily green these areas. The greening of sediment control dams blends well with the surrounding scenery. Rooftop Greening Revolution: A Fail-Proof Rooftop Greening System "Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method" Construction Example: Slope Greening Using the Evergreen Kiri Grass Bag Method, we implemented greening with letters as a landmark for the interchange. Evergreen Kiri Grass is resilient to heat, cold, and drought, making it a low-maintenance plant. It replaces its new shoots around November, ensuring that it does not grow uncontrollably and alter the shape of the letters. The bag method is made from weed control sheets, effectively preventing weed intrusion and soil erosion. With such low-maintenance plants and the bag method, it becomes possible to create letters using this greening system. In manufacturing, there are people, and in projects, there is drama. The "passion" of three individuals transcends the boundaries of the company, leading to "co-creation" and "hope." In April 2007, at an exhibition, a project team was born. They wanted to create new solutions originating from the field to solve customers' problems. Three professionals who shared such passionate thoughts met, and the Evergreen Kiri-Sou Promotion Association was established. Professionals in plants, architecture, civil engineering, and facilities breathe new life into the city. Moments of inspiration are continuous. The opportunities to experience moments where the heartbeat never stops are becoming fewer. Why is that? Perhaps it is because of the increase in fakes and deceptions. We aim to remain professionals involved in plants, architecture, civil engineering, and facilities, and we operate the Evergreen Kiri-Sou Promotion Association. The professionals have developed new greening methods and greening systems. That is the Evergreen Kiri-Sou bag method.
