By ensuring proper airtightness, we promote constant dryness by "moisture-proofing in winter" and "moisture-permeability in summer."
Traditionally, airtight sheets aimed primarily at preventing winter condensation, especially in cold regions, commonly used polyethylene film that "constantly prevents moisture." Recently, to enhance energy efficiency, there has been an increase in the installation of airtight sheets even in warm regions. However, in wooden houses in warm areas, there is a risk of reverse condensation in summer and mold growth due to structural dampness, leading to the belief that it is better to allow moisture permeability under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions. Against this backdrop, DuPont has been selling a variable moisture-permeable airtight sheet called "Tyvek Smart," which prevents moisture in winter and allows moisture permeability in summer. In Europe, such airtight sheets are referred to as "smart vapor barriers," and their adoption has been accelerating in recent years. Considering the anticipated global increase in demand, we have developed a new product to establish a more stable supply system. Its translucent nature is expected to improve workability and simplify inspections.
