Measurement of dew point and oxygen concentration of industrial gases (nitrogen, oxygen, argon, hydrogen, etc.)
In deep cryogenic separation plants, nitrogen, oxygen, and argon, among others, as well as hydrogen and various other gases, are produced industrially. The purity management of industrial gases often involves measuring the dew point (moisture content) and oxygen concentration as impurities to determine gas purity. Typically, management is done at the PPM level (for dew point, this might be -70 °C DP, for example), but for high-purity gases, management is conducted at the PPB level. For dew point measurement, it is common to use a simple capacitive dew point meter, but when precision is required, a mirror-type dew point meter is used, and for corrosive gases, a moisture meter for corrosive gases is employed. In the case of oxygen concentration measurement, zirconia-type and galvanic cell-type oxygen concentration meters are used depending on the gas.
