Diaphragm seals are used for the purpose of protecting pressure gauges in applications where it is difficult to measure the medium, allowing the diaphragm to come into contact with the medium instead of the measuring instrument, thereby achieving effectiveness. Pressure measurement is transmitted through the system filling liquid within the diaphragm seal system. For the implementation of demanding customer applications, various designs, materials, and system filling liquids are available. Model 990.24 is particularly suitable for food manufacturing with hygienic process connections. Pressure gauges can be integrated into pipelines or tanks without dead space using a VARINLINE access unit or a connection flange for the VARINLINE access unit. The installation of diaphragm seals to measuring instruments can be done not only through direct mounting but also by attaching a siphon in high-temperature cases or via flexible capillaries. Regarding materials, WIKA offers various solutions, and the diaphragm seal can be made from the same material as the instrument or from different materials, with the wetted parts optionally available for electropolishing.
