[Dialogue] The Effectiveness of Silent Drops as a Soundproofing Measure for Upper and Lower Floors

Soundproofing measures are possible from the lower floor! We interviewed about the reasons for considering their adoption.

We conducted an interview in a dialogue format with Mr. Naoki Yugo, a first-class architect from Aoki Shigeru Architectural Studio, which was selected this time, Mr. Takashi Yamauchi from Toda Corporation, a professional in acoustic design and co-developer, and Mr. Shuta Kawamata from our company. Refining architecture involves seismic retrofitting of existing buildings. In seismic retrofitting, it is nonsensical to make buildings heavier, so sound measures inevitably take a back seat, but there was a strong desire to address this issue. Owners of condominiums and real estate companies are troubled not only by earthquake measures that occur once every few decades but also by daily complaints about noise.
