Gas molecules such as saturated water vapor, oxygen, and hydrogen contained in process gas have the property of absorbing near-infrared light. The wavelength range at which gas molecules absorb near-infrared light varies depending on the type of gas, and by precisely measuring the wavelength range absorbed by saturated water vapor using TDLAS, it is possible to accurately measure the amount of saturated water vapor without being affected by other gas molecules.
