Successful development of battery-less tire perimeter sensors! Introducing tire internal power generation technology utilizing static electricity.

A joint development by Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. and Kansai University has been undertaken to realize the "tire internal power generation technology." We have successfully extracted electric power from the movement of charges generated by the triboelectric effect between positively and negatively charged films within the tire. By incorporating a power control circuit, we added the functionality to charge power from the power generation device. This enables power supply to sensors that require batteries, such as batteries.
