We will introduce a case where multiple people were poisoned due to a leak of CO gas inside the blast furnace during the testing of measurement devices at the steelworks.
In the electrical room, the main power was turned on, the main circuit switch at the site was turned off, and when the "forward" button on the measuring device was pressed, the device retreated due to the gas pressure in the furnace. After pressing the "stop button," the measuring device temporarily stopped, but then when the purge button for the antenna into the furnace was pressed, the measuring device retreated further. Gas from the furnace leaked through the tire seal section of the ball valve that was stopping the gas leak, causing many people nearby and those watching the test from a distance to be exposed to the furnace gas and suffer from carbon monoxide poisoning.
