The main role of the drainage pumping station is to forcibly discharge the water accumulated in the tributaries into the main river to protect the lives and livelihoods of people in the surrounding areas from flooding in the main river. When the main river rises, the water can backflow into the levee side, causing flooding damage. Even if the sluice gates are closed to prevent external water from flowing in, flooding damage cannot be avoided due to the inability to drain internal water.
