The "GWD2 type" stretches wires across a stream, and by detecting when debris flows (mud flows) pass through the cross-section and cut the wires, it performs occurrence detection. By stretching multiple wires (up to 5 measuring lines) in the direction of the riverbed height, it is possible to estimate the scale.
