Erosion Control Vegetation Mats are slope protection materials whose standard civil engineering unit prices were officially listed in the Temporary Supplement to Construction Price Index “Civil Engineering Cost Information” as “Erosion Control Vegetation Mat method (Curing Mat method)” starting April 2018. In erosion control vegetation mat method, the only currently designated mat is our Erosion Control Mat. Due to the recent global climate changes, such as sudden heavy rains and prolonged rainfall, landslides and sediment disasters have been frequently occurring in the country. The erosion control vegetation mat method is expanding its scope of application in prevention, countermeasures and recovery regarding disasters, and in road-related works.

<Differences from Vegetation Mat Construction> Vegetation mat method is an expediment that provides slope protection by covering slopes surface with plants. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the construction timing (the period when plants germinate and grow). Erosion control vegetation mat method can provide protective effects solely from the product immediately after installation (without plant coverage), so there is no need to consider the timing of construction. Additionally, as the name suggests, it is highly effective in preventing erosion, which reduces sediment runoff and helps suppress the occurrence of turbid water from the slopes. Utilizing this effect, it is used in various forms, such as vegetation with slow-growing plants, or vegetation with local plants that do not have seeds attached to the mat.
