Structured light refers to a method where a projector, installed separately from the camera, illuminates an object with special light, and the camera observes how that light interacts with the object to measure its depth. When light hits an object with irregularities, the pattern becomes distorted, and based on that subtle distortion, the camera recognizes the three-dimensional shape. Images captured by a structured lighting 3D camera are generated as point cloud data, which is a collection of points containing positional information (X/Y/Z) and color information.
