The R9 is a dedicated ultrasonic thickness gauge for cast iron and cast aluminum. Conventional ultrasonic thickness gauges often confuse the unique noise of cast iron with echoes from the bottom surface, which can result in incorrect thickness readings. The R9 has been developed and calibrated specifically for measuring cast iron and cast aluminum, avoiding the characteristic noise of cast iron and accurately detecting the correct bottom surface echo. It is sized to fit comfortably in the palm of a Japanese hand, allowing for comfortable measurements even during long periods or in dark environments.
