"Helicoil" is the original "thread insert" that was born in the United States in the 1930s. The outer diameter of the tang thread insert is larger than the diameter of the threaded hole, and by being inserted into the hole, the diameter of the coil decreases. The coil expands with a spring-like action and is permanently fixed in the hole. The screw is then smoothly inserted, and the looseness is tightened. Additionally, to prevent loosening under vibration or shock, it provides an elastic internal locking screw (with a locking mechanism).
