We will introduce the phenomenon of fluid leaking from between the flanges due to internal pressure in the container.
This article introduces the troubles that occur at the bolt connections around heat exchangers and piping, specifically focusing on the causes and improvement measures for leaks at flanges. The causes include "insufficient management of axial force (surface pressure)," "displacement and damage of gaskets," and "reduction of axial force due to temperature cycles (essential factors)." There is a minimum surface pressure required to prevent leaks, but due to the above causes, it is not possible to secure and maintain the necessary surface pressure, leading to leaks between the flanges. As an improvement measure, there is the "tensioning method," which allows for management of bending stress and axial force. It can be tightened without rotation, thus avoiding the effects of friction, allowing for axial force management, and preventing displacement by pulling straight. 【Proposed Products】 ■ Superbolt ■ Boltight *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Company information
Nortlock Japan Co., Ltd. aims to be a partner in solving all bolt fastening challenges, centered around four brands: the "Nortlock Washer," a locking mechanism that does not rely on friction and prevents loosening; the "Superbolt," which allows enormous bolts and nuts that cannot be tightened by hand to be tightened with just one torque wrench; the "Boltight," which can simultaneously tighten multiple large-diameter bolts with uniform pressure; and the "Expander," a pivot pin for construction and heavy machinery that can be used semi-permanently.
