Simple Type Water Stop Board "Flood Guard F"

We delivered Flood Guard F to Shinagawa Ward's 2nd Nobeyama Elementary School in Tokyo. Concerns were raised not only about damage to classrooms and hallways but also to electrical equipment and supplies, as well as a potential decline in functionality as an evacuation center, necessitating enhanced preemptive measures. In this context, Flood Guard was introduced due to its easy installation without tools, quick setup time, and user-friendly operation that can be managed by teaching staff, making it suitable for incorporation into daily educational activities and disaster prevention training. It contributes to ensuring the safety of students and maintaining the functionality of the facility.

We are pleased to announce that the FZ50 of the simple type water stop board Flood Guard has been selected for the "2023 Good Design Award" organized by the Japan Design Promotion Association. The "Good Design Award" is Japan's only comprehensive design evaluation and recommendation initiative, inheriting the "Good Design Product Selection System" (commonly known as the G Mark System) established by the former Ministry of International Trade and Industry in 1957. Its purpose is not merely to compete for the beauty of objects but to discover and widely communicate designs that enhance industrial development and the quality of life across various fields around us. The FZ50 was awarded not only for its functionality but also for its design appeal among numerous submitted products. Evaluation comments from the judges: The damage caused by floods is becoming increasingly serious day by day. In low-lying urban areas, rainwater rushes in all at once, entering underground spaces and interiors, causing significant damage. Traditionally, attempts were made to prevent flooding using sandbags, but they did not yield significant results. This design is structurally durable and stable, and its ease of connection allows for efficient blocking of rainwater. It is a timely design that is much needed.

The "Kansai Manufacturing Selection" is an initiative to support the business expansion of products and technologies developed independently by small and medium-sized enterprises in the Kansai region. Products and technologies developed by these companies, as well as the business models utilizing them, are evaluated by a selection committee composed of experts. As a result, particularly "excellent" and "marketable" products and technologies, as well as "new" and "profitable" business models, are selected as part of the "Kansai Manufacturing Selection." The Flood Guard F was proudly selected from numerous applicants in the field of "disaster prevention and security."
