basic information
*Features* 1. Measures transient grounding resistance values (effective surge impedance*) that cannot be measured with a grounding resistance meter. The transient grounding resistance values (effective surge impedance) caused by lightning surges differ from the steady-state grounding resistance values due to the influence of reactance and capacitance contained in the ground. It is important to measure grounding electrodes, such as those for lightning protection systems, transmission towers, and communication antenna bases, where surge currents flow, using a surge impedance meter. 2. Measurement can be performed without removing the overhead ground wire of transmission towers. 3. Compact, lightweight, and easy to operate. 4. Operational check using test resistance. A simple operational check can be performed to confirm whether this product can measure correctly. *Effective surge impedance refers to the value obtained by dividing the maximum voltage that appears when a current with a wavefront length of 1μs flows into the ground by the maximum value of the inflow current.*

Company information
OTOWA is the only manufacturer in Japan specializing in lightning protection, having explored "lightning" since its establishment. We want to create a safe and secure society that does not fear the natural threat of "lightning." We will realize this wish with our advanced lightning protection systems. ◆ A Wide Range of Products Available We offer a variety of products, including surge protectors for power distribution, as well as those for offices, factories, railway vehicles, and general households. We also accommodate custom orders, so please feel free to consult with us. ◆ Consulting for Lightning Protection Lightning protection varies depending on various conditions such as location. OTOWA will propose the most suitable lightning protection measures for those conditions. ◆ World-Class Lightning Testing Facilities Using top-class testing facilities and a diverse range of testing equipment, we conduct product evaluation tests and development in-house. Our achievements are highly regarded, and we also accept contract testing (Lightning Technology Center). ◆ Unique Quality of Zinc Oxide Devices We produce zinc oxide (ZnO) devices under strict management. These devices are the heart of surge protective devices (SPDs) and are indispensable for lightning protection.
