The Oxiti industrial oxygen concentrator uses pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology. Air contains three main gases: 21% oxygen, 78% nitrogen, and 1% argon, and the oxygen concentrator removes nitrogen from the air to produce oxygen gas. Outside air is filtered and the filtered air is sent to the compressor through a suction resonator and fine filter. The pressurized air enters an electronic valve system that directs the air into one of two tubes containing a molecular sieve. The molecular sieve adsorbs (physically attracts) nitrogen from the air. As a result, only oxygen-rich product gas is sent to the pressure regulator. Since one tube generates product gas while the other purges the adsorbed nitrogen, this process is called pressure swing adsorption (PSA). After passing through the regulator, the flow rate of the product gas is set by a flow meter adjustment valve. Finally, the concentrated oxygen gas passes through a valve with a check valve and is discharged from a fire-resistant exhaust outlet.
