We would like to introduce a case study that solved the issue of wanting to prevent pump troubles by improving the efficiency of tank liquid level measurement. Crew members were unable to accurately calculate the timing of when the ballast tank would run out of liquid, leading to the pump running dry and causing pump troubles.
