Typically, carbide is selected as a material when wear resistance is required. However, considering cost and difficulty in processing, there are many challenges in manufacturing solid carbide products. In such cases, carbide brazing, where only the active parts are made of carbide, can be an effective solution. However, when making only the active parts out of carbide, careful consideration of the joint design with the base material is necessary; otherwise, the functionality of the critical carbide section may be compromised, potentially leading to tool failure. Therefore, it is essential to design the joint section and create appropriately shaped carbide components accordingly.
