Ultra-precision machining of cemented carbide brazed products (stainless steel × cemented carbide)
Precision machining of stainless steel × carbide brazed products at the micron level! It is a challenging machining technique due to warping that occurs during carbide brazing and grinding processes.
We provide precision machining services for base materials that are brazed with cemented carbide and austenitic stainless steel (SUS304 series). The base material brazed with cemented carbide will be precisely machined using techniques such as grinding and electrical discharge machining. The brazed products are heated in the previous process, which usually results in distortion of the base material. We will perform precision machining that requires strict geometric tolerances while removing the distortion of the base material. Particularly when the base material is made of SUS or other materials with a high coefficient of thermal expansion, significant warping occurs during the brazing of cemented carbide, and new warping can also develop during the grinding process, necessitating advanced machining techniques.
