Charles and Ray Eames, representatives of American mid-century design, designed numerous chairs, among which the "Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman," released in 1956, is often cited as one of their most iconic pieces. The lineage of this chair's design can be traced back to the "Organic Design in Home Furnishings" competition held at MoMA in 1940, where Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen collaborated and presented ideas that already hinted at the design. Subsequently, between 1945 and 1946, Charles and Ray created a prototype that divided the chair into three sections, each made of molded plywood, evolving into a shape that can be considered the prototype of the final product. Several prototypes were made thereafter, and it was finally commercialized in 1956.
