Charles and Ray Eames, representatives of American mid-century design, created numerous chairs, among which the "Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman," introduced in 1956, is often cited as one of their most iconic pieces. The lineage of this chair's design can be traced back to the 1940 MoMA competition "Organic Design in Home Furnishings," where Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen collaborated and presented ideas that were already in development. Subsequently, in 1945-1946, Charles and Ray created a prototype by dividing the chair into three sections, each made of molded plywood, which evolved into the shape that would become the basis for the final product. Several prototypes were developed afterward, and it wasn't until 1956 that it was finally brought to market.
