Significantly high evaluation of the in-store environment and product impressions! Introducing an examination of how customer impression evaluations change.

We would like to present the results of a study conducted to verify whether the presence or absence of scent affects customer impression evaluations at a high-end clothing store in Belgium. A faint lemon scent with a hint of mint was used on a total of 194 participants, consisting of 20 men and 174 women aged between 18 and 55. The results of the experiment showed that when a scent was present, participants rated comfort, exhilaration, impressions of the store environment, and product impressions significantly higher than when no scent was present. 【Verification Results】 <The following items were rated significantly higher> ■ Comfort, exhilaration, impressions of the store environment, product impressions, intention to return ■ When comparing customers based on emotional intensity, customers with higher emotional intensity rated comfort, impressions of the store environment, product impressions, and intention to return higher. ■ Customers who did not come to enjoy shopping rated comfort, impressions of the store environment, and product impressions lower. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
