To prevent pipe rust, a famous bookstore building has introduced NMR pipe protectors.

The red rust prevention device "NMR Pipe Protector" prevents red rust deterioration in air conditioning pipes, ensuring long-term extension of the pipes and proactively preventing asbestos issues.

The building housing the famous bookstore in Shinjuku is always bustling with many people. About 20 years ago, we were troubled by the deterioration of the air conditioning chilled and hot water piping due to red rust. Because asbestos was used in the ceiling, it was practically impossible to carry out piping replacement work. As an alternative to piping replacement, we introduced the 'NMR Pipe Protector,' a device that can be installed on the outside of the piping to extend its lifespan by over 40 years. A pipe inspection, which involves removing a section of the piping for examination, was conducted 19 months after the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector. The results showed no signs of red rust corrosion on the inner surface of the piping, and the conversion of red rust to black rust was confirmed, indicating a very good condition of the piping. The building is already 57 years old, but the galvanized steel piping used for the air conditioning chilled and hot water system, which has been in use since its completion, has shown no leaks, and a follow-up survey in 2020 confirmed that there has been no occurrence of red rust since the installation of the NMR Pipe Protector. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
