Conducted vibration experiments on a 3t (water volume) wooden tank designed using conventional methods! Introducing an overview of the vibration experiments on the wooden water tank.
In May 2011, a vibration experiment was conducted using a 10-ton shaking table owned by the Kanazawa Institute of Technology's Institute of Regional Disaster Prevention and Environmental Science (IDES) on a 3-ton (water volume) wooden tank designed using conventional methods. For these vibration experiments, the acceleration and displacement of the wooden tank and the shaking table, the strain of the side plates, round steel bands, and anchor bolts, as well as the water pressure acting on the side plates were measured. Throughout the experiment, it was found that the strain in the orthogonal direction of the wood (side plates) and the strain in the steel (round steel bands) were similar, indicating that both materials behaved as a unified system. Additionally, during the one-month experiment, more than 100 different input waves were applied to the wooden tank, but there was no water leakage or damage to the tank at all.
