It is possible to calculate 3D coordinates from 2D coordinate values! We will introduce the measurement principles and main equipment.
We will introduce the principle of obtaining three-dimensional coordinates using motion capture. A single camera captures the two-dimensional coordinate values X and Y of a planar marker. Each camera draws a perpendicular line on that two-dimensional coordinate, and the point where two or more lines intersect represents the depth Z, allowing for the acquisition of three-dimensional coordinate values. In other words, to obtain the three-dimensional coordinate values of a single marker, two or more cameras are required. By identifying the relative positions and orientations of multiple cameras, and defining the origin and coordinate axes, it becomes possible to calculate three-dimensional coordinate values from the two-dimensional coordinate values recognized by each camera.
