We are a testing and research institution that broadly accepts examinations and research from everyone. Our institute was established in April 1969 as the Automotive High-Speed Testing Ground Foundation, reorganized to conduct comprehensive research related to automobiles, and has engaged in neutral and public activities as a public testing and research institution, progressing alongside the development of Japan's automotive industry and advancements in automotive technology. In 2012, we became the Japan Automobile Research Institute, a research institute that broadly accepts examinations and research from everyone, while maintaining our public activities and contributing to the further advancement of the automotive society in the 21st century.
