Continuously construct two types of tunnels with different cross-sectional diameters within the excavation extension.
The "Soil Pressure Type Parent-Child Shield Method" is a construction method that allows for the continuous construction of tunnels with varying cross-sectional diameters using a single shield within the shield excavation extension. A smaller child shield is incorporated within the parent shield to excavate the parent cross-section tunnel. At a designated position, the child shield is separated and launched underground from the parent shield to construct the child cross-section tunnel. By sliding the rear body of the child shield forward to incorporate it and adopting a method where the rear body is pushed out by the shield jack during assembly, the separation and launch can be completed in a short period. 【Features】 ■ The underground separation method eliminates the need for the installation costs of shafts and securing land at the position of cross-section changes. ■ The rear body push-out method significantly simplifies the assembly work of the child shield. ■ During the separation and launch operations, the front body remains fixed to the parent shield with a reaction pin, maintaining the stability of the face. *For more details, please download the PDF or contact us.
